X166 GL center armrest wood cover in a W166 ML
So apparantly ML and GL interiors are almost identical. Found a 2013 GL in a salvage yard in New York and picked up a GL cup holder, my center console looks so much better now! Too bad they are not heated cooled.

Yes, looks very nice. I started to consider ordering it as a spare part and having the dealer install it...but then I realized that I keep it open all the time, so it would be kinda a waste for me. Although, maybe if it looked so nice, I'd find another place to hold my coffee and water bottle.

I'm surprised how much better that looks. I was pretty happy with the standard cover, but this really dresses it up.
What was the process to remove and replace the old one with this one? Did you have to unbolt anything, or was it more of a slip-in/clip-in type thing?

A. 4 screws to remove the center console- 2 are located under rubber mat in the front pocket, another 2 are in the armrest compartment under the rubber mat.
B.lift center console (no need to unplug anything, just move it back a few inches and lift the front part of enire console up. There are 2 more bolts which hold the cupholder in place( front side of the cupholder/center console).
C. once you remove the cupholder there are two metal pins on the back side of cupholder, remove the pins and the cover slides out.
I can take pictures if someone needs it, I still have the X166 cupholder laying around

Ye it was a great price, I was also thinking to try adding third row to my ML, but the seats are tan color and doesnt really seem possible
Btw they are selling all leather brown dash for 500$, probably can negotiate lower. They also have a 500k 2012 SLS in their lot
disclaimer: not affiliated with the Saw Mill Auto, I asked them when I was picking up the cupholder, just figured I ll let you guys know.

I have mine satin ash, love it over the plastic cover.
i also have the heated/cooled cup option. It is the most useless option on the car. Do not bother to upgrade. I do miss having heated steering wheel
