Just had all four brakes replaced under warranty due to warping. Anyone else seen this or heard of it. The dealer said it very rare on Mercedes cars. But they put new front and rear rotors and pads on it. Just hoping not to have the same problem again.

 

At 17,000 miles during a nice high speed drive with some fairly frequent braking when encountering heavy traffic, the shudder from the warped rotors became very obvious. I had been noticing a slight shudder for a few thousand miles, but passed it off on the quality of the roads. But now it's obvious that the rotors are seriously warped.

 

It's not too rare. I'm on my third set of front rotors on my 550 with 17.5k miles. It's an issue with ML550 and GL450/550. They use the same 14.7" cross drilled rotors. I was told that the problem was the first type of pads they were using, creating too much heat. I had my recent set since 13k miles and so far they are ok.
