My ml550 on order comes standard with running boards. I've tried to change it withe dealer and MBUSA but no luck yet. Anyone want to swap parts?
If not how much does the pair cost? I want the painted ones on ml63 or mls with the sport package

You can order from spare parts. I was quoted Australian list price for #200 $A130.00 ea & #220 $A570.00 which includes #240 & #250
Total cost including nuts etc $A1540
So do you really want to change them?.

Sorry that attachment does not work. But I did post the pic in this forum on 06-28-2012

That's a lot. I was thinking it would be around 800, then paint. And I was hoping for dealer pricing to bring it down even more.
Damn standard on ml550 running boards that I don't even want. I'm planning on lowering it a little So they'll really get in the way. I loved them on my non air suspension ml350 but not on this next car. Especially when I'm paying a premium for the ml550. Now I have to pay to get them off? I guess I could get the parts and roll it into the lease. Then I could write off some of this company car expense.

I have a pair of black AMG side skirts that was just removed from a 2013 ML63 AMG if anyone is interested in trading. The truck only had delivery miles when the skirts were removed so they are practically new.
I also have a Burl Walnut Wood / Leather Steering wheel along with interior trim pieces up for sale / trade.
PM me if anyone is interested.
Thanks,

That was exactly my point with my dealer too. Unfortunately had to take delivery of ML550 with those damn running boards a week ago. Hence I posed a question in a different thread if anyone actually replaced them. Unfortunately, per my understanding, its easy to take off AMG or standard rocker panels and replace them with running boards. Its not that easy the other way around in addition to being quit costly due to body work required to undo "damage" caused by uninstalling running boards.

That info was straight from my MB dealer, when I was close to refusing delivery unless running boards were replaced by AMG side skirts.
In any case, once you install them, please let us know the total costs of the swap including the installation (and whether installed by MB dealer or not).

Parts were $800 something. I just need to paint them and I might even out them on myself.

Absolutely agree. More than that. When I signed purchased agreement, they assured me that this specific ML550 that they were swapping for, was the only one in the area, without running boards. Of course when my ML showed up...well the rest is history.

Ml550 is standard from the factory with running boards. My dealer and mbusa customer service tried to change my order but they said it was not possible. So now I'm going the parts dept route. Are dealers incompetent or just liars?

To be clear, MBUSA opted to make the boards standard on the ML550. They are not standard on the ML550 in other markets.
