ml350 w166 upgrading rims pls help

hi! i have a 2013 ml350 (gas, 2wd) and planning to upgrade my rims for just an after market 22"s with "no name" tyres and probably change my springs to HnR just for it not to be too high. i was originally planning to get the AMG 21"s but they are just too expensive plus the tyres.
my concerns are... will my car be bumpy? what are the disadvantages am i gonna get? should i get branded tyres?
pls help what else should i need to know? offset? width? etc...
thanks

It a all a question of price really...

If you get a set of HRE rims for example, your car Will handle better and your ride Will be more comfortable since the rims Will be lighter than the stock Mb ones...

How much do you want to spend?

How can the ride be more comfortable when you're going to a lower profile tire and you don't have air suspension? Your air suspension makes a big difference. His shock ride can only get worse. Better handling yeah, but not softer ride

i dont want to spend much thinking i wont like the ride in the long run.
i found a local store for $1,200 with unbranded tyres or $1,600 with falkens.
if i install the HnR springs, will it damage my gas shocks sooner?

Stock shocks do generally wear quicker if not replaced when lowering a car. Bigger rims and lower profile tires will ride rough in comparison to what they replace.

I'd personally put quality tires and rims on your car. Why get the cheapest set of wheels and tires you can find when you just dropped 60k on a car. That's obviously my personal opinion though. Cheap wheels and tires can have structural issues, be difficult to balance, noisier, heavier, etc.

I personally think the 20 amg's off the ml63 are nice looking. In the end it comes down to what moves you and makes you happy. Do what fits your preferences and budget. Opinions are just that. I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever choice you decide to pursue. Post pictures whenever you get it all set up.

Have you looked at the options from powerwheelspro on this forum? See this post: https://mbworld.org/forums/new-m-class-w166/518590-20-21-wheel-options-powerwheels-pro.html with some 21" options including some that are spot-on AMG look for less than $900, plus tires. Not sure what shipping to you would be...

I find them intriguingly inexpensive and good looking. I also question offset when going to a wider wheel, is 30-40mm or so net additional sticking out going to look okay? Anyone?

Very good question...I am assuming it's due to much lighter rotating mass of the HRE rims maybe?
It' not only a question of low profile tires IMO. Comparing my heavy stock amg 21 with conti 295/35/21 tires to my lighter HRE with Vredestein 315/30/22 tires believe it or, the 22 rims are more comfortable! It can only be because of the lighter rotating mass of the tires and rims

Word of caution: ML63 20" have different offset from stock 20" due to different suspension geometry/track widths, i.e. they are not interchangeable with ML350.

Actually the offset works very well on ML350
