Can't lock in high beams MY'14
Hi,
I'm unable to lock my High beams on by pushing the lever forward on MY'
14. I used to be able to do that on '11 ML. I have lighting package.
Does anyone know why?
Thanks

Do you have Xeons.? If so you have intelligent lights that turn on high beams when it is safe to do so. You may have to download the command manual, don't remember where it is written about, not with my ML now. Low speeds, reflections coming back at you can keep them on low.

The lights are intelligent but not that intelligent.
High beams can not be locked in AUTO mode. You must turn the lights on manually - one turn clockwise - than you can lock high beams by pushing the lever forward.

On my 2012 C-Class Coupe, you can still have it in Auto Mode but lock in the highbeams.
Through my instrument cluster menu I have the abilty to turn on or off the adaptive highbeam. Then if I push it forward they will be on all the time even if the lights are in AUTO mode.
However, I have found that it works great just leaving it forward all the time while driving with the adaptive highbeams on. The lights do a great job at lighting up the road and while it is on, even though the full high-beams might not be engaged, I find it does tilt slightly higher to illuminate up to the cars tail lights in front of me, until the car is gone and then they go full high-beam. So it does have advanatages.
