Wiring under seats

Wiring under seats
Quick question? I was cleaning my MY2014 ML350 BT yesterday, and noticed that all the wires under the front seats seemed to be really exposed. Is that the way everyone else's vehicles are, or did the assembly line or my dealer forget to install a cover or something?
Also, the button on the front dome that controls the overhead lights in the back seems to be loose and rattles, especially when compared to all the other buttons up there (the map light buttons are snug and rattle free). Is that normal as well?

The last Mercedes I had that was "finished" under the seats was a 1994 E class wagon. I do not remember the 98 pr 03 wagons having the covering over the wires and I know for sure the 06 ML and new 14 ML do not either
