Kruse DEF/AdBlue hose

Anyone here heard of Kruse hose from Germany! It's the spill proof/free that screws in to the AdBlue. It's much like the refill 1/2 tank fitting.

Well, many buy one bottle of MB AdBlue - use that - then cutoff the bottom on the bottle to use as a lock-in funnel - keep the beat !

That's my last resort! I really like the idea of putting 2.5 gallon at a time of DEF in a sealed container.

Well, gee.. you an order the Kruse DEF from the UK... more than a bit pricey but it's what you like ... frankly DEF isn't like filling a rocket with liquid hydrogen.. go to a trcuk stop and fill from the DEF pump...

I don't know if you understood. I want the spill proof hose. I could get a ISO 22241 compliance DEF at Autozone for $4/gal.

I do understand you clearly and I'm not going to cut the bottom to make a funnel. I'm not a shade tree mechanic, I don't do short cuts and I don't use screw drivers as a pry bar or a wrench as a hammer. If I could afford an MB i could afford the simple tool. Like I said, I like the idea if pouring 2.5 gallons at a time rather use the bottle as a funnel and there's always a chance of splicing and ****ING **** up. This I'm talking about is the same as the bottle MB sells and the most I've seen are ISO 22241-1 and it's not the right one I got from service department. They suggested, 22241. I don't have to get an AdBlue, I could get a DEF which means the same. The same **** we put on the trucks I work with... It replaced the EGR.... DEF Ad Blue Kruse

The Kruse connector is a click/lock with push/on dispensing - I have not seen the hose here in the US - I have seen the hose in Germany on both pump and gravity flow systems.

I have attached a photo of the generic/VW-MB bottle - MB also has same connector on a gray bottle.

On the "funnel" technique - the issue is pressing down the funnel during pour.

Generic DEF, like Peak, in 2.5 gallons "generally comes with a hose that will fit in the neck, just like dispensing stations have manual nozzle (smaller diameter than disel nozzle) that will fit into the neck.

The key to a "clean" DEF refill at/around 10K miles - is park truck slightly headed downhill if you can to minimize "burp back" - pour slowly - have a good ear or flashlight handle and stop pour when you hear the DEF fill up to the bottom of the neck.

"Top Off" or "freshening" partial tank only recommended if planning long-term storage.

I get it - you want what you want - no problems by me - but a 2 gal+ fill every 10K isn't rocket science - generic DEF like Peak 100% OK to save dollars - unless you have already purcahsed prepaid maintenance which includes DEF refill costs at 10K service intervals

The reason I want that hose is because it's like the OE. I had that tool when I was stationed in Baumholder, GER. I couldn't bring it because Customs said so. The reason I asked is because Mopar Specialty Tool used to carry it; picture attached. I bought a 2012 ML BT and shipped it to Germany because the Military Sales doesn't offer the ML. I did my own maintenance since I'm ASE certified and it doesn't void any warranty. Got rid of the ML and bought a Range instead. So now I'm back in diesel again that's why I want the fancy tool again. Also, I was asking if anyone have heard of this because it's like the 1/2 gal that MB sells.Plus I could use this on my diesel Cruze also. I wasn't asking for anything else, just that product. Like I said, you could say whatever you want but I'm specifically asking for Kruse hose. Not a short cut to do a job. I'm out of here seems like you want to start a fire. Gotta do some overhaulin.... $167.00 is a lot of money for a short length of hose!

It is because it's imported from Germany and this is over 3 yrs ago. I paid 55ish Euro on my last one with the VAT form. When I emailed this company, they said they never heard of it even when I sent the old flyer. Must be under new management. Oh well, guess I have to ask my bro-in law to have it ship for me from Deutschland. Sent from my iPhone using IB AutoGroup

That is providing your truck stop does have the right connection for the small opening on the ML !!!

Just had my 10K service today and my ride is only 5 months old. Only paid $374 with my own oil. The service manager said its because I didn't use that much DEF. Must be all the highway driving I did to Canada and back. He also said I don't have to use the MB AdBlue, hence the reason I want the hose.

I doubt if the amount of DEF was a real factor. A complete fill from totally empty would be a maximum of $45, even at inflated MB dealer shop pricing.

I think it's actually $114 but don't quote me on that. I scanned the service price after I bought my car last year. Service manager gave me a print out of all the parts and labor. I think it was closed to $670ish from the price. I'll check again when I get off work and post the price.

MB Part

There is an official MB hose to fill the AdBlue, It is P/N: A.000.583.22.04. MSRP is US$9.75.

I have no idea if this has the leak proof connector, but it is the official MB part to do the job.

It's kind of spill proof but not the press-on type.
