10K service
Just did my service and only paid $374 with my oil. Service called me and said I save some money because if my own oil and I didn't use that much DEF/AdBlue.

I do too but I don't have time. PLUS, there's an update on the vehicle sometimes. Like when I brought it in, a hose clamp update was done. I'm a mechanic myself but since it's still under warranty I didn't want to mess with it. And I don't have the spill proof hose kit for the DEF.

I have added adblue from the 2.5 gal jug using the hose that's included and had no problem.
If you can't add the DEF without spilling it all over then you better take it to the dealer and pay!

There's always the risk of spilling that's why MB and other manufacturer came up with the design. If it spill and damaged any electrical equipments it won't be covered by warranty. I've seen shortcuts done with self proclaim weekend mechanics and I'm not a fan.

There's always the risk of spilling that's why MB and other manufacturer came up with the design. If it spill and damaged any electrical equipments it won't be covered by warranty. I've seen shortcuts done with self proclaim weekend mechanics and I'm not a fan. I work with a fleet of vehicles and it's an EPA violation if it spill on the ground. I can do it myself without spilling because I do this for a living but since it's under warranty I won't mess with it yet. Sent from my iPhone using IB AutoGroup

There is "something" to be said about dealer service - as long as you understand what the service entails.
With current integrated control systems - how else would you know when there are "improvements" ?

My 2013 ML350 is still under warranty and if there are any service bulletins, recalls or if anything breaks on it I will definitely take it to the dealership but for routine maintenance I will do it myself.
Dealer maintenance is not always that great. Have found several mistakes they have made in the past. I would rather do most of the maintenance myself to make sure it is done right

And as for the EPA warning, do you have a link? As I understand it, urea is non-hazardous and one of the main components of fertilizer, routinely spread on the ground.

Urea
Urea is non-toxic and non-corrosive, so a water rinse is all that is needed to clear it away.
However, like any salt solution, it will play havoc with any electrical components that it gets into; so keep it away from them.
