V8 in the ML -- Not gone yet
From the MBCA news on the 2016 ML:
Expect a major shakeup in the engine department, with the base ML350 model getting a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 good for approximately 329 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. The engine debuts later this year in the 2015 C-Class. The ML350 BlueTEC diesel is also tipped to receive a new four-cylinder unit. Finally, we may also see a new nine-speed automatic introduced with this facelift. No changes are expected for the engines in the ML550 and ML63 AMG V-8 models.

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz ML400 4Matic will be arriving in August as a replacement for the current ML550. This new model will be a bi-turbo V6 with a long list of standard features and have improved fuel economy over the current V8. The only V8 variant for the US will be the ML63 AMG which will be manufactured in very limited numbers for 2015.
