ML550 owners with Renntech tune...

2013 ML550
ML550 owners with Renntech tune...
I Have the 13' ML550, real close to getting the ECU tune and the sport mufflers. Does anybody have experience with the tune? Did your fuel consumption get substantially worse, drivability issues in sport/comfort/off road modes etc... Any feedback is appreciated.

I have the Renntech tune in my '13 ML63...It now performs in the manner it should come from the factory although I do understand why MB pars back the performance level due to unknown factors like fuel, altitude etc.
The tune changes the throttle characteristics improving response and the power delivery is much more linear now. Fuel economy is more a factor of how you drive but that said it does no get worse because of the tune..I'd say slightly better but hardly noticeable in general.With the suggested plugs and intake filter swap the engine just seems to breath and run more freely..power is nearly always instant with lag virtually unnoticeable..where the tune really shines is when the engine starts making the bigger boost levels..she pulls like a freight train and one must be very careful as high velocities are attained in seconds...here are the results of my ML with a new VBOX sport I ran a couple of months ago..and we are at 2500 ft asl..this also with heavy 19" wheels/winter tires...In my opinion the tune is a no brainer and Renntech with their history and close relationship to MB was the only tuner I would consider...price was not an option...just do it..you won't regret the Renntech experience
