HOLD function, 2012 ML-350

Has anyone got the HOLD to work?
I'm tried everything in the manual and it does not work
- Car is stopped and I depress the break further, NOTHING
- Car is stopped and I depress the break twice quickly, NOTHING
- Car is stopped and I depress the break, let go a little then back in, NOTHING

what am I doing wrong?

Press the brake pedal down as far as you normally do and without letting go, keep pushing down an extra 1" or so and hold it there until you see the hold message on the dash.

Don't worry, you can't BREAK the BRAKE :-) sorry, couldn't resist...

Funny you posted this today. I just happened to have found out about this feature literally a few hours back and was snooping around to see if this is a standard feature on 2014 ML350's as well. It'll be neat if it is available.

I'll check my car tomorrow.

The hold function works on my 2012 BT but I've never seen an indication of it on the dash display. I suspect it's because its crowded out by the icons for optional features that my car has, including Distronic and Parktronic.

Confirmed - The HOLD icon appears on my 2014 ML350. Neat little feature (I remember looking for something like this after seeing the ECO feature on a CLA45 AMG).

It is a standard option indeed and it took a few trials before I figured out, might take some more practice before it comes to me more naturally though...

Press on the brake pedal moderately hard, then relax the peddle just a bit, then reapply pressure. Works for me every time. A "hold" message appears in the display between the speedo and tach.

For those who are familiar with personal computers (just kidding) - the analogy would be that you double-click on the brake pedal.

Your dash should change from the "P" (if you have Parktronic) to HOLD (image below)...
