2012 ML-350 Siri, Carplay?

2012 ML-350 Siri, Carplay?
Okay, I remember reading online where I can use the Voice Button to activate SIRI on my iPhone (Compatible with Siri) ... how do I do it? overtime I hit it it does the MB Voice instead.
Second, this is a long shot.. When Apple announced CarPlay, MB said it will offer support for older MBs back date to 2012. Do you guys think it's possible?

I have drive kit plus in my 13 ml 350, awesome stuff- siri, google maps facebook etc.
I recommend you look into it!

From what I have read, it's a full unit that replaces the existing navigation screen on non-amg models. It says to verify with your Mercedes dealer first if it can integrate with your vehicle. Only Mercedes service department is recommended since there are no instructions. I'd call your dealer and give this part information from amazon to them. It says only 2013/2014, so I would ask if the 2012 has the wiring for it or not.

DRIVE KIT PLUS doesnt replace your screen or any functions of command NTG4.5, its a module(well a few modules)that you plug in to the back of command and to the back of your screen. You can activate it by selecting AUX in Audio or holding the C button. I ll make a video of it in action.
Dealer didnt want to give me installation instructions, so I installed it myself without instruction. This is what the kit looks like out of the box for my 13 ML:

Ah, ok that makes more sense. Thank you for clarifying. Otherwise, it would probably be like $2-3K to retrofit it as opposed to $500.

My dealer quoted me 1200$ labor plus 600 cost of kit plus tax.
The main issue I had was no dealer in Massachusetts installed one before noone really knew anything about the Drive kit Plus, i didnt feel comfortable beeing the guinea pig. It is a complected install, took me close to 7 hours. If i was to install another DKP would probably take me 4 hours.

I understand how you feel about being the guinea pig and dealers not knowing ALL the information they should know. More power to you for figuring it out and doing it yourself. I bet you learned a lot. I would order it, but none of my family members nor I use iPhones. All android and that is coming down the road to this system apparently. Thanks for the information, buddy.
