Music Registry
Okay, I have searched over and over and downloaded COMAND menu in PDF, I still can't figure this out.
How do you copy music to the music registry? I tried both USB Hard Drive and SD Card, none of them show "COPY" option.
When I go into the music registry, it showed there is NO FILE and when I click on it, the only option I can select is "Memory Info" everything else is gray out and can't select. Even that, I do not see "COPY MUSIC" option.
Normal Track
Random Track
Random Media
Rename Delete File
Delete All Music File
Memory Info (ONLY ONE I CAN SELECT)
Display Track Info
any ideas?

Sounds like you have an issue with your memory cards. My son copies music from SD cards all the time using the "Copy Music Files" under the music registry tab in the bottom left corner
Try playing the music from the memory cards. If the vehicle can't read them to play them then it probably can't copy them either.
Or find a teenager and give them five minutes with system. They seem to have better luck with computers and electronics.

Maybe it's a DRM thing? But I didn't think DRM made a difference anymore. Maybe the music registry requires certain file formats, or size limits or something else odd about the files it accepts? Yes I'm fishing here.
Maybe someone who has run afoul of DRM could chime in. I'll check with my son when he gets home to see how he copies music to the registry so easily

You can rip them from CD onto the hard drive at least I was able to with my 2012 C-class. I don't think you can copy from memory card to the hard drive

I know my son always uses memory cards since his laptop doesn't have an optical drive. And we keep the card sticking out of the dash slot for when he needs it. This is in a 2010 and a 2014

The question was how to get music on the command hard drive. The slot for the memory card is just one other option.

From what I'm reading it looks like MB turned off the ability to copy from anything except original audio CDs in 2011. Don't know if it's true, but my son says he can't copy from SD card to my 2014 register either. But he has filled up the 2010 register

But for some reason they don't care if I gaze at my NightView while driving. But they did set it up so it turns off if you turn out the head lights. Now who would turn off their head lights and try to drive using NightView???????
Before people get angry with me.... my driveway is 1,000 feet long through the woods. I was just playing around on my property.
Still looking for more reactions to the DVDinMotion software fix though
