ML 400 Sport Nappa vs Designo (help wanted)
I'm considering ordering a 2015 ML 400 with the following configuration:
Designo Diamond White Metallic
Lighting Package
Panorama Roof
Brushed Aluminum Running Boards
20-inch AMG Wheels
Soft-Close Doors
Can't decide if i should do:
Wood/Leather Steering Wheel
Designo Auburn Brown Leather
Open Pore Brown Ash Wood
or
Interior Sport Package
Anthracite Poplar Wood
Black Nappa Leather
My questions are:
1. If i go with the Nappa/Sport Package is the dashboard still wrapped in MBTex? Its supposedly a standard feature on the ML400 but when i add the sport package the stitching disappears from the dashboard on the MBusa website.
2. Is the designo Auburn worth the price difference from a quality/look stand point? I was looking at a GL and was going to do the designo there but there wasnt a Nappa option. I dont mind paying the difference if its much nicer (obviously prefer to spend less) but im wondering if the Sport Nappa option looks/feels nice.
3. Are there any other options i should consider in my build?
I'm going to check out the Designo Diamond White in person before i order. It looks nice in the pictures. I'm assuming it looks more pearl white than the polar white.
Thanks in advance!

I have a 13' ML550 with the auburn Designo and satin ash and it's amazing. Worth every penny. Anyone that gets into my truck comments on it. I've had for two years now and it looks brand new while dealing with two kids and a golden retriever.

I would get the designo Auburn Brown and add multi-contour seats. I went with the Anthracite Poplar with Auburn Brown and it looks great as well, but you can't go wrong with either wood selection.
Add Airmatic/ADS as well to select the ride height and firmness.

I have the sport Nappa option on my ml,550. The interior is very different from the standard, especially the door paneling with white stitching all over the place and and differnt pattern. It looks like an AMG inside. I got the stitched dash. The mbusa configurer is limited and does not show every option.
The designo Seats are stunning though. For me if rather have the sporty interior that I sit in and enjoy daily, like the sporty perforated wheel than a classy less sporty designo interior.
They're both just different

+1 for the Interior Sport Package, Anthracite Poplar Wood, Black Nappa Leather, wrapped dash, get the black headliner too. Gorgeous stitching throughout.

Is it just me, or is the wood/leather wheel just soooo 1990's lexus? I shopped nationwide for ML's...and had such a visceral negative reaction every time one of those popped up..."ew...next!".
I think every lexus suv I rode in back in the day had one of those wheels.

It feels soooo good in the hand. I wouldn't have one without it.
