Front view camera issues

I purchased my new ML 350 back in August and had the front view camera being replaced for three times already. gonna be my 4th time after the holiday. The new camera worked for about 3 weeks then suddenly yesterday the front image went grey-ish but you can still see from it although very unclear. Today it went completely grey-ish white and nothing can be seen.

Anyone has similar experience in the past? The dealer told me it is purely bad luck that all three were bad cameras. But it is really hard for me to believe that it breaks down in such a short time.

Same here. Delivered in March and almost 20 k miles, including a trip to AK and back, without any problems; although I almost never use the front one.

Seems like too much of a coincedence for that many cameras to go bad. Wonder if there is some type of short that is destroying the cameras after they are installed.

I agree with Greg. No way they are just all bad. It could be heat related. Could it be anything next to where you park it usually? Or maybe garage heater or something...

I went to the dealership earlier this morning and it's another bad camera I guess. The adviser has no clue either. I don't drive my ML a lot and it's usually twice a week on the weekends then rest of time it's in my garage. I have no heater in my garage either or anything like that.

You would think after replacing that many cameras, that someone would check to make sure the wiring/circuit is also checked. Just plugging in another camera will yield the same results. Hard to believe that they dealer has a dozen defective front cameras.
