Buy it. That's very inexpensive compared to what some other German auto manufacturers charge.

Comparing to what I used go pay for digital goods it is very expensive.
Each service starting from $400. Any part is 50% more expensive.
I already paid a lot to MB additionally to car itself so I believe DVD has to be for free.

...and roads don't change that much year to year. I wish they gave us the 3 updates at our request over the life of the vehicle ownership when we notice that too many roads have changed... but oh well... never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Where can you buy the update? I checked http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT...430aa6213da268 and they say no updates available.

Nice- I've had mine for 15 years and 100,000 miles. It's the best car I've ever owned by far. I've done all maintenance myself since the warranty expired 13 years ago- it's both a pleasure to work on and fun to drive.

Check on E-Bay. Not very long ago I bought an update disc for my 2008 E320 BlueTec for $80.00. Works well.

Map Update
MB wants $295 to update from V6 (2011/2012) to V9 (Jan 2014)!
Can't imagine many will pay that when you can use your smartphone and have the instructions spoken thru the cars audio system.
I can see the next generation of Navigation systems be streaming through your mobile device with the realtime maps displayed on the cars screen. The days of these propriety systems won't last.
