My first oil change DIY or Dealer?
I called the dealer the other day and they quoted me roughly $150. I can change it myself but the weather here in Denver has been terrible for the last few weeks. The dash says I'm 2300 miles past service. I had to drive to Amarillo and then my 100 mile drive every day to work. I'm not to worried but I know I need to do it soon. 9 quarts is what the manual says but it didn't seem to specify viscosity or synthetic or regular oil. What do you all recommend? The BMW I owned only got full synthetic BMW oil. Do I do the same with the Benz - only Mercedes synthetic?

DEALER..... Look after your warranty. You don't really want to give them any excuses. Saying that, the oil alone cost more than $150 in Australia. Oil and filter change cost over $300.
Anyway, if you don't spend your money on your car, you will only waste it.

Document your oil change, keep all receipts and DIY.
The dealer cannot do anything with your warranty for not using them for service - unless they can specifically prove that something you did (or did not do) caused a failure. Document, CYA, and DIY
