ML350 Air Suspension ?? Sport Package
Hi, new to the ML forum. In the midst of purchasing an ML, to replace my GLK. I have done quite a bit of research on the ML, and am about to pull the trigger on a mostly 'loaded' 2015. The problem/question I have is to everyone who has the 'sport package/air suspension'. Does it hold up? Any problems or maintenance on the new models. I ask this as when visiting a dealer today to test both a ML350 diesel and a ML400 gasser the salesman offered up his opinion NOT TO PURCHASE THE SPORT PACKAGE/air suspension. He stated that it is problematic and stated something to do with the 'hydraulics'. I know this is an air bag system, possibly in tandem with the shock oil, but pushed him later on the phone to explain further. He stated he didn't have the 'time to give me a hydraulic suspension course" but he would try to find some relevant info for me. He emailed some data (basic sales crap) about what's included in the Sports Package... but that was it. Unfortunately my wife was there for the testing, heard his beef, and wants me not to purchase a vehicle with air! The car in question(possible purchase) has the Sports Package!!!
BTW... the possible purchase would be from another dealer! LOL!
What say you all? thanks in advance...

air suspension is awesome. I've had and 2012 spring ML and 2014 ML550 with air. the comfort mode is more comfortable in the air suspension than the springs. the sport mode lowers the car a little over an inch and really helps with turns. Going up to Big bear in a non air suspension car would probably be nauseating with all the turns.
btw your sales guys sounds like an ***.

Get the sports and Airmatic. We have a 'sprung' 250BT with 19inch wheels, feels floaty. Last week got a loaner 250 with the sports pack and Airmatic. Felt much better to drive, was a lot more planted on the road and not floaty. Felt much more direct and there was no compromise in ride comfort when in the comfort setting. Even in sport mode, just made it a little firmer.
Airmatic with the sport pack was on the wish list for us but we were too impatient!
Definitely get it.
