Turning off stop-start
As there any way to disable stop-start mode permanently? A salesman said he thought it was possible to do by having a mechanic change something or it could be changed by programming the "custom" driving mode.
I know it can be disabled for driving by pressing the button on the center console, but it comes back when changing to reverse, and also seems to come back when car has not moved for awhile.

A salesman claims that in the GLE there is a "custom" mode which is one of the modes for the transmission (others being-economy,sport,ice) that can be programmed to turn off stop-start. After programming, whenever the trans is switched to this mode, start-stop will be off. Next time I drive one, I will check this out.
