camshaft positioning problem P002177, 2012 ml350 4matic gasolin.
I have 2012 ML350 4matic, Gas. Blue Efficiency, 166.
Engine 276
Xentry diagnostic shows P002177, camshaft position different from given,
Given cannot be reached, Bank1 intake.
Afterwords test of camshaft adjuster, with engine running (between 2700-3200rpm, as it requires by the test) indicates all Ok.
Actually when starting engine after long stop, noise is coming during 2-3 seconds (like as if engine misses oil) and after 2-3 seconds all is ok again,
engine runs normal without the noise. This is when starting engine after long stop. If I stop engine for short time 5-or 10min. there is no noice, engine runs normal.
I have cleared this code several times but it comes up again with letter "f" (not "F" - in Xentry dignostic program).
In all cases there is no "check engine" lighted.
Suspected faulty camshaft adjuster, but my concern is: running test of this
indicates Ok. Furthermore, like I described above, after 2-3 seconds all is ok. There is also solenoid valve regulating oil supply to camshaft,
I was told that system under oil pressure permanently even when stopped
and seems that this particular camshaft bank1, intake is somehow loosing the oil. When it's stopped for a long time having trouble during starting the engine, like a "dry" and afterwords when starting the engine, oil supplied to this camshaft and all is ok again.
Is it any Idea which part of this camshaft can be defective?
No insurance, I have to pay myself for all. So i don't want to waste the money and time.
I have tried to google with this code P002177 (by Xentry), but strange that can not find anything similar. Format of the code itself is unusual. can someone advise link for codes for Xentry with descriptions.
Any Ideas are highly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

First, there are some 'extra valve', like a little steel ball with a resort, to be mount near each of the tensioning device. This should help oil to remain into the system of tensioning rails.
If this will not help, maybe one or even 2 Camshaft Adjuster should be replaced. The Adjuster, on this engine must compensate back and forth.
And if this will not work, then maybe Endoscopy become mandatory.
took it to local garage, the computer codes generated are:
P222704 - Pressure sensor, ambient - internal fault.
P001477 - Camshaft "B" timing (bank 1) - Specified position not reached.
P001177 - Camshaft "A" timing (bank 2) - Specified position not reached.
Has anyone experienced that? what is the rough cost to fix it?
is it safe to drive with the engine mgt light ON?
any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

mine as nothing to do with the chain adjusters and check valve as that was replaced last week and did not correct the problem.
