ML 4matic tire wear out

I'd say 85 to 90% has been done on interstate travel at speeds b/t 75-85 in TX which is being conservative. On Hwy 130 that is a toll rd around Austin/San Antonio and is 80 miles long , we do 85-90 mph because half the distance is a legal 80 mph and the other half a legal 85.
That said, on I-37 b/t the Holiday Inn on North Padre Island, Tx and San Antonio you can do a constant 85 and not worry about the hwy patrol although the speed limit is 75 mph. I average 77mph from Corpus to my driveway in Ft Worth. Gotta love Tx driving.
Just my way of saying I don't ***** foot along trying to save on tire wear.

Why? Because last year I owned a CL550. I took a trip to Canada and back. Car was percect in every way. Then I took it in for service and got it back a day later. Left for another trip at 6AM the next morining. After traveling ten miles i asked myself 'what is that ROAR coming from my car?'. Went back home, swapped the CL for the ML and went to California.
When I got back I took the CL to the dealership and complained about the roar coming from the tires. A day later they called and told me it was because of the rotation of the tires and how the alignment must have been off and causing the Roar. I measured the thread with a thread gauge and there was no abnormal wear on any of the tires i.e inbd edge wear vs outboard wear.
Bought a new set of Continentals and the roar went south. No way I'll ever have a set of tires rotatated again. Continentals cost Big money. Swapped the CL for '13 SL in June. Can't wait til the runflats on the SL wear out so I can buy 'normal' tires. Won't Ever rotate 'em ever.
Oh. A dig at Mercedes Cl550 2011-2013.........the display screen looks as if it was made by Yugo. They tell me the 2014 is a lot better. Must have fired that Yugo engineer prior to '14.

So, IMHO, it doesn't hurt to rotate the tires. Think of rotating the tires as insurance against the possibility of tires wearing on one axle more than the other.
The Nokian Zline is a W rated tire, meaning it's UHP tire. Therefore it's got a softer compound. This is a very heavy vehicle that puts a lot of torque off the line. So I would say you bought the wrong tire if you're looking for longevity.
I would avoid UHP tires if you want longevity.
