2012 ML350 Bluetec
Cold weather Start up & maintenance
Hi:
we are going to have to move from California to Pennsylvania and we want to keep our 2012 ML350 Bluetec which has been maintained by the same MBZ dealer. We have had the ML350 for exactly 5 years and 60,000 miles.
Will this ML suffer any kind of weather change effects with the Diesel engine especially with start up in cold days? Should I have to do anything to keep this AWD car? Please advise. Thanks.

You need to change the oil to a low viscosity at low temp one. That's the best thing you can do for your engine. Also make sure you have proper antifreeze in your cooling system. Put on some winter tyres for driving temperature below 7DegC (probably something like 48 DegF??). Wash the car often, especially underneath, to avoid build ups of salt that will accelerate corrosion.

2015 ML 350 4Matic gas
It's Pennsylvania not Siberia. I live north of PA in MA and never had a need for an engine block heater and I also have a diesel auto besides my ML350.
Good all weather tires are a must. Follow MB oil recommendation and you will be fine.
