Don't you know that you were absolutely right, you've been right all along. You're absolutely right, and I was wrong.

Your responses to other posters when you disagree with them have almost always been......without tact. Regardless of my initial impression of you after reading the 1st 2-3 posts by you, I treated you with respect and courtesy.
But you proved your worth, or lack thereof, when you stooped to name-calling.
That proves that you're nothing more than an educated-yet ignorant bully (which, btw, is worse than an uneducated bully, at least he has an excuse).
Gotta go see if there's a way to block posts/threads by.......well, you know...

See, all that and I didn't outright call you an a$$ even once. I may think it. I'm sure others probably do too. But "I" didn't succumb to my baser instincts.
'Magine that, and I ain't even no gingineer.....

My responses to others - when I disagree with them - at the very least *begin* by me pointing out facts in evidence and logically substantiating my view or conclusions, which for the record is something that you haven't even attempted to do. If they keep reiterating the same thing over and over again without offering a shred of evidence to substantiate their side or claim, then yes, I no longer have any tact or patience in my subsequent replies. My discretionary time is much too short for me to waste trying to persuade or educate random people on an Internet forum about things that to me are completely inconsequential, but again, unlike you at least I try. The OP asked a legitimate question, but instead of addressing it and/or offering something of value, you derailed the thread by asking another poster largely unrelated things and went off on a tangent about your GMC trucks and how Mercedes is overpriced crap. You have now made six posts where you have offered absolutely nothing of value to the intended discussion, and when I pointed out that you're being an ***, you turned it into a condescending and sarcastic lecture about how insensitive I am to you being an ***. You're like the drunk guy in the room that's yelling and bumping into people spilling his drink on everyone, but me pointing out that you're being an *** makes *me* the bully. Good one.

Seeing as sensitivity is your strong suit and not mine, please help me out here: what would you call an ignorant and opinionated person that has offered nothing of value and whose sole contribution to a given situation has been b!tching, whining and moaning about how they have been wronged by a big bad company that is out to get them and is ripping them and everyone else off? How would you politely tell someone like yourself that he is being an ***?

I am glad to see that at the very least you're in control of your emotions, and in this regard you are indeed much better than I am. Seeing as logic is not your strong suit I don't think anyone could ever confuse you for an engineer (which is apparently something you feel rather insecure about and incidentally says a lot more about you than me), but you'd make an absolutely awesome politician if you aren't one already. This I mean without the slightest hint of sarcasm.

Good luck with your search into blocking posts and threads.

My apologies to the OP (and everyone else that actually wanted to learn something useful) for derailing the thread and turning it into another soap opera. Back to regular programming.

Cheers,
Doug

JESUS CHRIST, the man asked about experience on a used car and he gets dealt with all of your crap, I was reading this as I was interested about the views of others on this car and I end up wasting my life reading this crap. both of your bickering is childish.

Keep quiet if you have nothing of interest to say!

Question Why the regrets??

After replacement, I have 70K now and all good.

Tires, car came with Pirelli Scorpion, at 70K now I still have enough for another 5K as minimum but going to install new this Friday.

Love the car, wish I bought gas, didn't do my home work right. But with gas model I will be paying + $130 each month for premium vs diesel.

Wondering why you wish you’d gotten gas instead of diesel? Thinking of buying the diesel myself...

Wife is going on almost 2 years with it. Car is great! No issues. Did the transmission flush, spark plugs, pads and rotors. My only complaint with the car is the 25k miles and 2 years of ownership is that there is a clicking sound from both the a/c vents. I do not know why but it seems the vents are cheaply made and make noise when the heat and A/C get used.

Less issues. Diesel seems to be loaded with issues. I went with a ML350 gas. No airmatic. Served me very well.

As you can see diesels have more issues, higher maintenance cost, more components which might fail, resale value close to 0$.
This is more about OM642.
On another side, our ML almost at 100K miles, troubles free, which Im so pleased about, but this is the time when issues start happening.
A few days ago looked at GLE 2016 and appraised our ML, I knew and expected lowest value but not that low, if I push it off the cliff and film it, I will make more $$$ from Youtube vs dealer's offer, so mad about.

Offer was $12K. No negotiation on dealers car, fixed price.

Tires Pirelli Scorpion only 25K like new.
Car is in very clean condition, inside like new.
A fee rock scratches, no dins.
Mid KBB value is 15.5K.

Yikes! That is why I buy used/CPO and keep them! That is some crazy depreciation. Not worth letting it go because of the cost out of pocket to replace it.

Same here, bought it used, with hope to keep it foe a very long time. But than discovered OM642 has a lot of potential issues. Should get gas version.
At the time when I bought dealer offered extended warranty up to 75K miles for 3500$. Turn that down, already passed 75K long time ago with no issues and have 3500$ saved.
So Im thinking if something goes wrong I can use them.
With cost of 2016 GLE - ML value I still need get a lone bigger than if I buy new engine and tarny for ML.
So keeping the ML with hope it will last another 50-75K miles.
