2012 M Class 350 bluetec engine stopped while driving

2012 M Class 350 bluetec engine stopped while driving
So i was driving along and thought i could hear a clicking/ticking noise so i turned off the radio and wound the windows down and could hear this clicking noise it went faster and louder when i revved even in neutral. I open the bonnet as it sounded like a fan rubbing on something but could locate the sound. I drove a bit further and the engine stops at about 60mph all the lights flash on the dash and now it wont restart. It doesnt even turn the engine over. Feels like its seized.
I Bought this one as it had just been fully serviced, new mot, oil cooler replaced, waterpump replaced among other things and it doesnt sound good.

How many miles your ML has? Did you do recent oil change at dealer or indy shop?

We got home ok with my 1 year old after about 6 hours. Dropped it off outside a local garages gates about 9pm. Couldnt get it in neutral so just dragged it up the recovery truck and pulled it off the other end. It wasnt easy.
The ex mercedes mechanic tried to turn the crank and couldnt. Looked at the oil filter and its full of swarf. He has said he isnt going to try and repair it as there will be metal everywhere.
He said i am within my right to take it back as i have only had it 3 weeks and done 150 miles and spent £20,000
