Mass Air Flow Sensor Code
I’ve got a check engine light that points to a P0101 error code (Can’t Measure Air Flow) and it looks like I’m going to have to replace the Mass Air Flow Sensors. Anyone done this on a ML350 Bluetec before and is there any way to possibly “clean” them and get more life out of them? I found some on eBay but I’m reluctant to buy as I have no idea how old they are of how much longer before they fail. So I guess my only option is to get them from MB parts.
Oh, one last thing. The air filters don’t look like they’ve ever been replaced, even though I’ve had MB do all the maintenance on the car since I’ve owned it. I’m wondering if changing the filters would help the MAF sensors breath and possibly fix the problem?
TIA! Jim
As far as I know if it fails its gone.
There are a lot of MB dealers who sells online with wholesale prices, local dealer most likely will add margin to the cost like 25-50%.
I personally buys from mboemparts.com or getmercedesparts.com sometimes they send you free shipping codes.
never had any issues.
Replace air filters and sensor.
There are many discussions how often to change air filters. I found out after 10K they were so bad. By book MB recommends to replace them every 40K (unbelievable).
Good luck.
Forget that (aside from the MAF sensors) there is nothing wrong with the old connector tube or any of the parts associated with it, they insiste that you replace the whole thing. Why? Doesn't MB make enough off of us already? I mean, what's next? I halfway expect MB to tell me I have to replace the entire engine just because the muffler is worn out.I'm a fan of quality German engenering but I'm also a fan of getting some support from those companies as well. And fleecing us at every turn isn't getting it for me.
