Ml bluetec 2013 23k mi.
The check engine is on and make smoke. 23k miles only. My certified mechanic couldn’t find any faults. Only add blue. Even with tank full nothing changed.

My ml have the check engine light on, and make a lot smoke. Only 23000 miles.
What can this be?
Wow, you need to provide more info:
What is the color of the smoke?
Did you check oil level?
Did you check coolant level?
Did you scan car's computer?
Any codes?

The smoke color is , I don’t say white ,but not blue or dark, seems likely gray! .
the oil level is good .
Everything is ok.
the only code appears was add blue. We fill , took about 1 Gallon. Nothing changed.
I don’t see any missed power, but the consume is more that habitual.

Light color smog is usually when coolant gets in to engine, but that also should increase oil level and decrease coolant level. Double check it.
How is engine runs? Does it sound the same?

I doubt this is a problem with AdBlue, maybe your car was overfilled with engine oil, my 2012 uses 8.5 q of oil. (Check your owners manual for the right quantity) If you add more than that smoke will appear on your exhaust and will turn ON the check engine even destroying your particule filter which is very, very expensive. Remember to use the right oil as well.
Also, with 23k a diesel engine is like new, mine has 110k and it is running great. Hope this helps.

Dear Dan D.
Thanks for your response.
yes the engine sounds the same, the oil level is almost in minimum and the coolant is full.
The smoke smells like a adblue, but I am not chore. Seems like the adblue is running more that is supposed be.
