I have a 2013 ML550 that has a cracked driver side door trim (part number 166-720-23-22) Burl walnut color. Ordered a new piece from the local dealer (correct part number via VIN) but the color was totally different than my vehicle. The new part was brown, whereas the trim in my vehicle has more of a reddish tint. The parts supervisor even agreed it was wrong, so he ordered two additional pieces to see if the one piece was just an anomaly. They were wrong as well, so he is ordering one more piece to see if it is wrong. I checked with Mercedes corporate, but just got the standard line that wood fades over time, there are variations in wood, etc. I can understand that to an extent, but my ML has been garaged and the wood has not faded (33k miles). Has anyone else encountered this, and if so what can be done? Try to find a used one? Thanks for any advice/input.
