2015 ML350 bluetec ownership
HI everyone, I'm new to the forum.
I've owned several MB before, however this is first time I will own a diesel from MB.
Lease the ML for 39months, my lease is about to end in a month.
Current kms at 58,000kms. I've decide to buy it out.
I'm quiet happy with the diesel ML, its spacious, comfortable, fuel efficient, and reliable *so far
My questions
if I should get the prepaid service maintenance and extended warranty packages.
Price for 3 prepaid maintenance services $1999 CAD, 4 services $2399
Price for extend warranty 24 months $3200, 36 months $3650 CAD
Prices seems quiet high to me if I end up getting 4 service + 36month extend warranty plus 12% tax. Its nearly 7k.
But the advisor and my sales are encouraging I should buy both since diesels ML are not most reliable.
What do you guys think? Should I just do maintenance & repair else where or follow the dealers advise?
Thanks for any input.

YES YES YES!!!
bluetec repair costs can be coronary inducingly high. Get a warranty for as long as you possibly can! Maintenance is also high and if you can pay in advance DO IT.

And change the oil at the beginning of winter and the beginning of summer. 10,000 mile service intervals on the Bluetecs is ridiculous. Change the oil twice as much as they say! If you don’t you may end up with oil sludge which will cause the engine to seize

You can found more discussions on this subject , there is no right answer for you:
If you will sleep better knowing you have extended warranty go fir it. Only you can answer this question. The true is insurance companies are for profit so risks were calculated. Thats why you get 75K warranty. Most likely your car will last 75K without any issues.
Are they reliable or not? I have seen a lot of post related to BT issues, I have 2014 BT with 79K miles. Love it, and scared at the same time. Because something can go wrong. When I bought mine, I been offered to get extended warranty for about $4.5K I didn't and it turned out in my favor. If something goes wring I can tell myself if will be paid with those money.
Service, oil change at dealer cost 200$ if you can find a shop or doit yourself it will cost you about 70$.
Air-filters & fuel filter are pain to replace, but air-filters set 89$ and fuel filter about 80$. So you do the math.
Keep in mind, this car need frequent oil changes and fresh air filter won't hurt to change fuel filter at 30K not at 40 as recommended.
Before you buy it, I will suggest you to sample the engine oil and send it to a lab for analysis just to be sure there is nothing wrong with chain or others things.
Good luck and yes BT is the very nice comfy ride.

Now I know why I haven't had any problems yet. I do mostly highway driving at speed averaging 80-100kms.
