Short summary. I am in the car, doors locked (automatically), driving down the road. However, I have realized that the rear doors can be opened from the outside. This is a safety flaw in that if I am at a red light a complete stranger can enter the vehicle in the rear. I can not find anything in the manual or on the net explaining how to fix this. If we park and lock it, you can not enter unless you have the key-less fob near by or the car has been unlocked. So, trying to figure out how to ensure the car stays locked while driving unless the doors are unlocked by the driver.

You can usually choose (on most recent vehicles) auto-lock when going thru the safety/security menu. If the rear doors still don't lock, then I'd guess that a trip to the dealer is in order.
