Let me start off by saying this task has been discussed in length on the forums, but most are pre-2012 which doesn't have the notch on the turbo charge pipe which forces you to remove it to uncover the filter. I was shocked at how simple this job actually was, I literally could have done this in 30 minutes if I really tried and this is my 1st attempt to complete a fuel filter on OM642. Im not going to cover the air-box removal as that has been covered time and time again, this is just how to get the turbo charge pipe removed to free up access to the filter. While this was easy enough, has anyone ever swapped the charge pipe with a pre-2012 pipe and will it fit? Im going to try to find one on ebay and see if I can swap mine, this would be a 20 minute job without having to remove charge pipe. Side note the 2014 is a self priming filter, I cycled the key 3 times and it fired right up without bleeding the filter.


Removing bolts in picture above will free up space to slide turbo charge pipe out.

Yes, kind of few, they not that expensive, and you already there.

A642 094 01 80 Turbo gasket
A642 094 02 80 Air Filer Gasket (intake both sides)
A642-094-05-80 Intake Seal, back near turbo
A014-997-64-45 Green o Ring

I didn’t need to change any of the gaskets listed. As long as they are in good condition they are rubber and reusable.

I tried using those worm gear clamps, but they always leaked. I ended up getting the ones specific for fuel injection.

This weekend I also changed fuel filter in my ML,
Second time, clamps are dood no leaks.
Used this tool to take them off

Agreed, Mercedes uses the Clic-R style clamps that are reusable and easy to remove and replace IF you have the correct tool linked above, or the Knipex tool: https://www.jensputzier.com/knipex-8...amps-3426.html
