This is the driver side footwell of my 2015 ML350. Same posts can be found on the passenger side. I’m trying to figure out what is the function or purpose of these little posts. One red, three white? I’m installing Dynamat and am hestitant to cover them, but if not important to be accessible, why not?
Probably reinforces whatever is directly underneath the center console then. These are like to the left and right of the center console - like at the section where the command dial is. I’m leaning towards feeling comfortable covering them with a thin layer and just mushing it in by hand instead of with a roller for that little section.
