Bought a new accessory belt as part of my new-to-me car maintenance checklist and man is it tight in the front of this motor! I have no idea even how the hell they get the belt around all of those hoses and pipes!
I’ve searched but can’t find a DIY on the subject. Anyone have a useful one, or has anyone completed this task themselves?
Thanks!

Which vehicle are you referring to? You are posting in a W166 forum. Your profile says 2001 ML430. The 2001 ML430 is not a W166.
Sorry haven’t been able to update that yet. I’m now the owner of a W166 ML63 with the M157 engine. I believe it’s similar to the M276 / 278 with regards to accessory belt orientation.

WIS says to remove the engine covers, air ducts and oil lines at the oil filter housing, in order to remove the poly-v belt.
Doesn’t sound very servicable on the road in case the belt snapped! Between this and the complexity of a spark plug change, I’m starting to miss the M113 already! Yikes.
