Lane Keeping Assist

Hello gents

as far as I know, I don’t have the Lane keeping assist.
although I have the front camera that attached to the windshield !!
does that mean I have the feature? If so how can I tell?

What is your VIN? You can decode it here: datamb.com It will list the features on your vehicle.

Go to datamb.com
Put your VIN
I believe its code 476 Automatic Lane Recognition

And in the car setting there in an option to turn it on and off.

I visited the website and I didn’t find the feature code.
so what is the purpose of the lane camera if it’s not for lane keeping assist?

That camera used in high-beams assist too. Do you have this option? Also it might be used to trigger wipers.

Here is the thing, you might have all what needed for lane assist but its turned off in ECU.
I remember using VAG cable and turn on and off a lot of things in my Audi.
Not sure if MB is the same way.

Note: this option is very annoying in my opinion and was turned off first day.

Ditto! If I need a vibrator to keep me in my lane, I've got bigger issues.

First time having it in the MB's that i having had to date. It's not that annoying to be honest, it keeps you in your lane and the the vibration on the wheel when your in the middle
of the lane is helpful.

some good comedy in this thread LOL

I had to turn of the steering assist and lane assist....

Steering assist felt like i was fighting it the whole time, got very tiring.... as a side note, I felt this on the test drive when i bought it and didn't understand what it was, had the poor dealer do a full wheel alignment because i thought it was an alignment issue OOPS..

Lane Assist in my case tried to kill me..... Tractor trailer drifted slightly into my lane, i moved over just a bit towards the yellow line.... Lane Assist whacked the brakes and tossed me nearly into the truck... scared the crap out of me and my and the wife... pulled over at next exit and figured out how to turn it off....

Exactly... should be against the law..
