New to the SUV world of Benzes, a 2013 ML 550...Very happy with the build quality of this generation, especially given the mileage on mine. Yes, the interior is kind of dated, but the quality makes up for it! Previous owner had it dealer maintained and included an extensive maintenance history. The timing chain tensioners and check valve was completed under warranty. It also has the newer fuel injectors and harness do to oil leak. Overall, enjoying it very much!

Congratulations! Please post a photo of the ML.
Oil-in-harness appears to originate in failed cam position sensors and cam solenoids. A way to keep an eye on this is to pull apart the connectors, inspect them for oil, and if necessary clean them with CRC contact cleaner, then reconnect. Do the same with the ECU connector.
The root cause fix is to replace the cam position sensors and cam solenoids with the latest part numbers.

Love the ML550, wish I had one instead of me ML350, but it has been very reliable. I Just like the idea of a V8 even though it may be more expensive to maintain.
