W166 2012 m276 engine fan always working

Goon evening! For about 1 month i have an issue a cooling fan. The problem is that the fan always turns on on a maximum speed even when the engine is not running. You open a car and the fan starts working
Anyone knows why it that efffect appears? Is it a problem with a thermostat?

I have seen this happen with water contamination in the front SAM. Check around for water intrusion.

Sometimes, the most thin cable from fan connector can be broken somewhere along the cables duct, or indeed the fan need to be replaced.

This thin cable goes from fan to engine ECU.

I found that the problem is most likely in the antifreeze temperature sensor or fan relay. Trying to locate temperature sensor (A 000 905 61 02). Anyone knows where is it located on 276?

Also found out that it can be a bad coolant temperature sensor or fan relay.
Anyone knows where this sensor is located on 276?

Also have a look at this one. It doesn't seem to come up as a topic on this site, but seems closer to your problem symptoms.

Jesus, really? That's the kind of thing you see on an aftermarket set-up. I had swapped a big-block 502/502 Ramjet (look it up, impressive for back in the mid-2000's) into my GMC Safari 100 yrs ago and the Flex-A-Lite double fan I ordered came with a sensor you stuck into the fins. Seeing as this was a swap, my eyes were constantly glued to the gauges those first few months. I noticed swings of at least 10-15*F between when the fans would start'n stop. Ripped that crap out and installed a sensor in the water circuit, swings went down to +/- 5*.

Freaking MB bean counters....
