I'm new to this forum / site. I recently took my 2015 ML350 to dealer for regular service and they found oil leak. Cylinder Head Assembly - Valve Cover: Cylinder head front covers leaking oil - Recommend reseal - $1577 in SF bay area. I did some research online, it probably takes 3 hours of work and parts around $150? Please let me know your recommendations. I've driven only 36K.

What are the hourly shop rates in the Bay Area?

Ahhh, what a common issue. That is too much. I paid around 990 CAD at an indy shop for my E350.

 

I just discovered my ML350 has this issue - discovered during the weekend oil/air filter change. I reviewed the WIS/ECS instructions but would like to hear about the process from a DIY perspective. I've googled a bit, but have come up short. What product did you use as sealant? did you have to pull the fuel rails? Any tips are welcome!

 

Just had it done on my 215 Ml with 75,000 miles at Plaza Mercedes in St Louis. for 996.85 plus tax
