How to change High beam bulbs?

Hello,
I cannot figure out how to change the hi beam bulbs on the w166 (2012 ML350). Checked our owners manual but I am not getting it. It would be of great help if someone could post a video on how to do this or refer me to a video tutorial. I checked on YouTube but there only seems to be videos on how to replace the low beams but not the high beams. Would greatly appreciate it if someone can someone help me out , thanks.

There’s an access cover on fender liner that can be removed. I think you can access it from there. Probably easier if you remove wheel.

Hi ,

I believe you are referring to the low beams, the high beams and parking bulbs are accessed from the engine bay. Just can’t figure out how to get the high beams out.

Here is the bulb replacement process. For the high beam bulbs, you will need to reference E1e1 & E2e1 instructions.

Hope that helps.

I just finished mine and it is fairly simple. There are instructions in the manual which I've elaborated on below. My wife has the vehicle today but will try to post a video later this week.
1) Open the hood and locate the round high beam housing cover for each side (on the right and left ends at the edges of the grill)
2) Open the housing cover by turning it counter clockwise
3) You will see the high beam holder which has a black lever and below it is the parking light holder which is pulled straight out if you want to remove the parking light. You might find it easier to work on high beam with the parking light housing removed but not needed.
4) The high beam housing comes off by turning the black lever counter clockwise. It should come off fairly easily so if you are having difficulty just confirm that you are doing it counterclockwise as it can look different since you are viewing each housing from opposite sides. I spent a half hour trying to put it back on the passenger side trying to screw it back in the wrong way.
5) Once the housing is in your hand (it wont reach too far because the wires are not that long) use a flat head screwdriver or other tool to slowly pry the bulb from the housing. It is in fairly tight. Reverse to put everything back together again confirming that you are putting it back in clockwise on both sides.
