2012 ML350 P0019- Help finding camshaft position sensor

I do not recall if 1 is admission and 2 exhaust. In any case, the advice:
1 - Slid the connectors out (carefully)
2 - Check there is no OIL in the connectors on either side, i.e. neither on the harness or the sensor side
3 - If there is, you MUST immediately correct the issue before it becomes really worse ($$$). Search for threads in the W212/W166 forums about this (plenty of great information there)
4 - If (2) passes, you can swap the sensors between banks (exhaust bank 1 to exhaust bank 2),
5 - Clear the codes, and restart the engine. it should trigger a code on the opposite bank if the problem is the sensor. Buy a new sensor, and replace it.
6 - If the new code is still on the same number, swap now the other sensor and repeat (5)
7 - the problem persists on the same bank, same sensor, it could be the camshaft adjuster and that is another level of complexity. (Let us hope the testing stops here)
There is a pair for admission (position sensor plus solenoid), and another pair for exhaust (see parts within the circles). The small at the top is the position sensor, and large one is the solenoid.
From a side view the top sensor can be seen as well ( a bit better ). Unfortunately, they are covered by the intake manifold. You may need a flashlight to see them clearly, or follow the electric harness to locate them around that area.
Here is an unrelated video, but if you look at time mark @3 min, you will see the intake manifold being removed, and the sensor locations (passenger side in this case).. Worth a look overall.
