Diagnosing Potential Engine Front Cover Leak
Hello,
I took my car to the dealer for alignment and they "suggested" resealing of the engine font cover because is leaking oil. I ask them, how did they diagnose that, and they mentioned an apparent oil residue and smell.
I also asked them if they are sure that the residual oil is due to a leak and not due to oil spill from an oil change etc, and they responded that they are not 100% sure.
After driving the car for 5000 miles, I checked the engine oil and there is no even the slighest change on oil level.
To this end, is it possibe that I have a very slow leak that is not depicted on the oil level? Is there any way to 100% diagnose a leak?

i don't think it would be any residue from an oil change, cuz most likely the tech is going to suck the oil out anyways. My cam covers barely seep and i've got 70k on my c43. if it needed to be done those covers would be covered with oil but like the other guy said, post a pic and we'll let you know!
