USB vs SD Card Music

I have always used the SD Card with all of my music on it (Sorted in Folders by Artist) and recently switched to the same files on a USB drive... It seems to me I hear more variety and less repetition (i.e. better shuffling) when listening to the same compilation on the USB drive VS the SD card. I'm perplexed.

How do you get music off classic iPod and onto an SD card? I still have my classic iPod connected with a 30pin in my glovebox!

I searched on line for a 3rd party app to remove or move my music from the old classic Ipod with the big wide power cord, to the hard drive in a new folder, then I copied the music to the USB drive. The software allowed me to use it once without charge as a demo. I also use an app called Wave Pad Sound editor to make the volume of all the songs the same, so there's no manual volume adjusting during playback. I also changed some of the file types which were proprietary file types to restrict playback and copying. (Switch File Converter is the software name) I'm so glad all my music is now mine to do whatever I want with it. Wave pad will also let you change the meta data (Title, Artist Record, LP, etc.,and also the album picture)

What app is it that takes the classic ipod to hard drive?

I have tried all three formats (USB/SD/Media Interface) and personally I find the quality from the CD is the best. Not to knock on the others but it will go better with the HK7/Burmester system, thats just me though.

You are correct. CD has the highest bit rate, so much more audio data available to play back. Other formats are compressed, so you lose audio info. CD is a much more complete sine wave than compressed formats, which are more stair-stepped.

I don't remember the app I used years ago but a quick search on "Move music from iPod to computer" will yield several... for example...

just chose the on you feel looks easiest to use.
