Liquid pouring out rear left

Liquid pouring out rear left
So I had the rare experience of driving behind my ML400, as my wife and I took two cars to an appointment. My first thought was "man, that a beautiful vehicle!" I love the rear view of all three of my cars. Anyway I start seeing liquid pouring out of the left side; not sure from where but it's the left side of the rear bumper and I'd guess I saw a couple of liters pour out at least. My next thought was "I don't see the exhausts; it looks like an EV!" I've been behind a few EVs recently and it occurred to me that that's an easy way to tell whether that F150 is an electric one: no exhausts.
Anyway, I've seen liquid coming out of other peoples' tailpipes, so I assumed I just couldn't discern where the tailpipe was but that must be the source of the liquid, but this wasn't the first trip of the day for the ML. We had driven about a mile to a hiking trail, and then the mile home, under 35 or 40 mph both ways. The liquid was coming out at "highway speed", about 55 mph.
Any thoughts?
