ML400, I'm wanting to put a flush mounted USB C port in the console/dash (with hidden wiring), wheres the best place behind the dash to grab a 12v ignition switched source from ? Ideally if i can remove the radio or AC controls and get access to a wire that would work, just need to know which color wire and where!

The easiest way is to use 12v directly from the "cigarette lighter socket"

 

You can circuit tap into the fuse box on the passenger side dashboard.

 

THAT is a graceful solution to a very common problem. I like it.

 

Thats the current solution for my Dashcam, works well.

 

Thanks for the info, i did the job this morning, 4 bolts to loosen the center console, lifted it up and tapped into the cigarette lighter wiring,
