Lightbulb thermostat replacement 2014 ML CDI

Hello All.
I wanted to replace thermostat (it is one on top of engine) but I was stuck in removal process. One (long) screw is impossible to remove due to lack of space (hitting directly to gas line). I removed turbo pipe to get more space but I got nothing.

What is the trick to remove long screw ? I don't see screw what it should be remove to get access to move gas line which it is going directly to filter ...

can you just loosen the screw all the way so it isn't attached to the engine anymore but leave it in place on the thermostat as you lift the thermostat out? Obviously you'd want that same screw in place on the new thermostat before putting the thermostat in place...
I've had to play that game with heads on my duramax and air filter housings on my ML.

Trust me ..I have tried every possible screw around to lose and get angle to take out. Also, I followed video on Youtube (search:

Thermostat "Wechsel" MERCEDES-BENZ 350 CDI - V6 in 25 Minuten als Leihe !!

But the key point of taking screw out is missing ...I am determined to replace this but I am not sure how many more parts I need to remove to get it out.
