W166 GLE500 a year together

Almost one year passed with the beast. For sure, it kept me busy.

I have sorted it to perfection; it took some time, many parts, and patience.

Here is the list of things that went wrong or I had to fix:

1. All four of the dreaded turbo cooling pipes had to be replaced, as well as a returning water hose. That wasn't cheap

2. The front air strut and rear air cushion weren't that expensive

3. Air tubes for both front seats, done alone. Kit from Amazon is not expensive

4. Exhaust mounts, from AliExpress, done alone

5. Engine mounts from Amazon. Labor wasn't cheap

Of course, preventive maintenance, all fluids, filters (K&N), transmission sump, and filter, sparkplugs (don't buy cheap from eBay, I had to do this twice).

All is working now, and I can report 0-100KM/h at 4.8, so it's a healthy beast.

That's a good list of essential repairs...

How about ...
4x camshafts sensors,
1x PCV,
2x front control arms,
2x ball joints
4x sway bar links F/R
4x wheel brakes rotor/pads

Thanks CaliBenzDriver,

I am aware of the oil issue in the engine harness. It is not clear whether MB took care of the issue in later M278 engines. I am watching the sensors and thought of getting the harness tails for good measure.
PCV—The car was well maintained at the dealer, so I hope it was done. But a good point will do.
Front control arms and ball joints, still ok, I do have a set waiting if required.
Sway bar links no need for now.
Wheel brakes and rotors all replaced and upgraded, brake pedal still a bit soft for my taste but it does stop well.

Also did the TPMS sensors.
