Just bought this and doing a bunch of preventative maintenance like trans fluid drain and fill (and torque converter too), new cabin and engine air filters (why is there three cabin air filters?) and want to lean the throttle body and MAF as well (the ML350 has 128k miles, probably never been done). No codes, all is working well. Cannot find the MAF on this vehicle - where an MAF usually resides is what looks like an air temperature sensor, between the main airbox and the throttle body. Any idea where the MAF is location on this vehicle? Never have seen one NOT between the airbox/filter and throttle. Weird. Wanted to spray some MAF cleaner on it as I doubt it's ever been cleaned let alone replaced. Anyone have a picture of where this is located?

No MAF. Hot film sensor detects velocity + temp sensor detects temp = mass flow. Boyle, Reynolds and Bernoulli at work here.Originally Posted by brianwhite007

There are two cabin filters in three parts:
1. Dust filter
2. activated carbon filter, split into two parts (pieces)
Makes sense then since I could not find one. Never had a MB without an MAF. Go figures!

Remember the L-Jetronic flap-style MAF?
