W166 Passenger Seat mat error after changing seat
I just swapped out the front passenger seat (US vehicle) lower seat cushion assembly and now have an error code on the SRS. Code B00A056: The control unit "Weight sensing system" has a malfunction, or an incorrect or incompatible configuration was detected."
I did a full swap out of the lower seat assembly, so everything was brand new. It looks like the seat chassis was manufactured in 2022, so I would not suspect the seat mat to be defective. Do I need to run a WSS cal on it? I have an iCarsoft MB II unit, but haven't checked yet if it has the ability to do the WSS cal.

Model and year of what you're working on would be helpful.
This forum goes up to 2015... your seat chassis was manufactured in 2022... was the car in a wreck bad enough to warrant a new seat or is it possible you're in the wrong forum for your query?

Sorry for the confusion. The vehicle is a 2012 ML350 W166. I replaced the entire seat cushion assembly because we wanted to replace the leather cover as it was worn out, but could not find it in stock. The lowest replace unit was the entire seat cushion. Once I replaced the unit, the SRS warning came on. I assume it is because the unit is new and needs to be calibrated, based on what I read yesterday. Hope that helps.
