Adaptive high beams inoperative
2015 ML350 Diesel,150000 KM. Has pretty much all option packages.
Does anyone know of typical faults with the adaptive high beams? Just got this unit, works great, except when I flip on the high beam lever it indicates the adaptive high beams are inoperative. I can only turn them on if I rotate the light switch on the dash to the manual position and then flip on the high beam lever (turn signal lever). They just won't lower automatically. Also, where is the control module?
Dealer fixed the airmatic (wouldn't raise or lower), oil change & filter, fuel filter, and did a full brake job (yay!).

There'll be a code stored if there is indeed a fault. A good scanner tool can tell you what has the car pissed off. It could be as easy as a dirty windshield...
Note that, by design, the automatic high beams do not work below about 14mph. Above that speed they should work but below that speed you have to turn the light switch to manual and flip on the high beams with the lever.

Thanks Rapidoxidation, I'll try and get a scanner going to see what's up. The only consistent thing I see is that when you try to turn the high beams on at any speed, it indicates on screen that the adaptive high beams are inoperative. The lights adjust and focus at start up as normal. I'll see what codes I can dig up.
