Hi all I'm new here my names damo this is my second ml55 I'm having a bit of bother tho. It starts fine and drives great under normal driving but as soon as you try to go over 3500-4000rpm it goes limp I've changed air flow but no joy

Any help would be great thanks

Hi Damo, I'm a newbie too. I have a 2000 ML55 AMG and I know it revs pretty well. I've had it to 6700 RPM under full throttle. If the air side is fine It could be the fuel filter, you need both to run right. The MAF sensor may be to blame as well. If it's not sensing enough flow the computer will not send the signal to pulse the injectors properly. Just a couple of thoughts, it should be put on a diagnostic machine, you could spend a lot of money changing parts.

I know the feeling, I did front lower ball joint, wheel bearings, front CV shaft, center driveshaft bearing, rotors and pads all around, window switches and tranny flush. That was from 80K to 110K miles, I think I should be fairly trouble free for a few miles now.
