Difference between 600 and 65 TB?

Do we know what the difference is between the TB on the 600s and the 65s?

I looked up the part numbers and the intake manifold is the same exact part number for both variants...

Reason I ask is because I have a TB for a M275E60 AMG motor laying around I would like to install it when I do the thermalnators..

Although I have NO first hand knowledge Chris, one could resonably state that since the intake is the EXACT same part number, the TB hole has to be the same. I would doubt VERY STONGLY that that MB would put a smaller throttle body on one utilizing the same bore size on the intake. Just about EVERY engine that I have ever worked on, had the intake track just a few mm larger than the TB. Whenever I changed to a larger TB I ALWAYS had to grind it open, or make an adapter. Again, just a reasonable conclusion, no facts, sorry

One more thought, wasn't the 600 engine out BEFORE the 65. If this is the casae, again it would lean HEAVILY towards them sizing it for the 600 TB, with NO upgrade on the 65.

Okay Chris:

I was at my local MB dealer beating up on a SLK55

So I went to the parts department, where they love my by the way, ha, ha

The intake manifold for a S65 or S600 is the same part number, as you knew
The throttle body gasket for the S65 or S600 is the same
The throttle body part numbers are different.

However, if the gasket is the same, and the intake manifold is the same, one can easily dadoes that the bore MUST be the same. Sorry for the bad info, but the fact of the matter is, you will see NO GAIN from using a AMG S65 throttle body on an S600

Sorry
