Well...I think if you want to be "legal" there isn't any choice but to replace it. Now if you want no CEL and louder you can do a few things:

1. Replace the cat with a high flow 200 cell cat. The 200 cell cat should not cause the CEL and should be legal.

2. Replace the cat with a high flow 100 cell cat. This will likely cause a CEL and may or may not be legal in your state. But you can get ECU software from a vendor (like Kleemann) which can code out the CELs through the software (you need to tell thevendor up front that you need this written into the code).

3. Replace the cat with a straight pipe. Obviously, this isn't legal. However, you can do the ECU tune again. This obviously will be the loudest option.

You can also try placing the O2 sensors in the right way with an "L" shaped extension. This will get the O2 sensors to read less carbon...and no CEL.

Good Quality

Best Quality

The boys at USP Motorsports gave me a better deal. I wrote to them and they agreed to 2,800. They make a far better product in my opinion than the rest and include an awesome X-Pipe. You have to buy that separate. Cheers.
